As the winter sport season is coming to a close, the girls wrestling team will compete in two more upcoming competitions. The regional tournament took place on Sunday, March 6th in Parkland High School in Allentown. Districts l, ll and XII will compete in the competition. Junior Sarah Seltzer placed 3rd, and junior Alia Narvaez-Weiner placed top 8th. Freshmen Victoria Depew and Danielle Eisloeffel placed 4th and top 12th respectively.

The team also attended a state tournament in Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg on March 13. Sarah placed 5th in the state, Alia placed top 8th, and Victoria placed 4th in their weight classes.

Head coach Mr. Evan Bates has shown much satisfaction from the performance of the returners and first year wrestlers and will continue to off season. The team has a potential National Freestyle Individual and Dual Meets in April and a PA Freestyle Tournament.

“We want to gain more respect. We’re not a club. We’re not an activity. We’re a sport, and I want to solidify that more,” coach Bates said.
