Before graduating high school, Mike Vigilante has already greatly advanced himself musically. He is a part of orchestra, band and jazz band as well as performing in chorus, chamber choir and school musicals as a vocalist.

Mike started out in both orchestra and band because other family members who played instruments. He made the decision to join chorus without having a family member who had been apart of the ensemble. Joining chorus proved to be a smart decision for him, as chorus would soon become his favorite of the three ensembles.

“With singing I kind of thought, might as well. So then I joined, and singing ended up being 

my main one halfway through high school,” Mike said.

Mike was recognized as a vocalist being ranked secondin District 10 Chorus as a tenor. Although he has been working hard to improve as a singer, Mikewas still surprised when he heard the news.

“It felt pretty insane because it was the first time trying out for districts with chorus,” Mike said.

He also works with a New York based musical theatre group called Kidz Theatre. Mike mentioned the musical director Michael Liepper, an experienced broadway actor, as someone who has been an inspiration.

“He’s inspired me to keep going. He’s like my number one fan, and I really appreciate it,” said Mike.
