Planet Fitness moves from Port to Westfall Town Center
The gym is shutting down in Port Jervis Friday, Oct. 28 and is moving to Matamoras Tuesday, Nov. 1. “We wanted a change after being in this location for 10 years,” a Planet Fitness worker said.
The new gym will be one floor and the same size. They will have the same equipment, membership prices and classes. The membership is $10 a month plus taxes and fees. There is a Black Card that gives gym goers perks and benefits. For $29.99 a month, it includes: half off drink prices, free Wi-Fi, free fitness training, PF app workouts, unlimited access to thehome club, tanning, use of massage chairs as well as
reward discounts. There is an annual fee of $49 for
both memberships. They will be open 24 hours Monday through Thursday. On Friday, the hours will be 12 a.m. – 10 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, they are from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m.
“It’s definitely going to be easier for me and will help me save gas. I’m pretty happy with it. The place looks great. It’s supposed to be bigger, so hopefully there will be some more people and more workout equipment,” junior Lukas Delo said.
On the other hand, some students think the move isn’t the best decision.
“As someone who goes to the gym three times a week, I think it is a bad idea. There will be no space in the Westfall Township parking lot. It will be very clustered in the gym itself,” senior Lajhia Rosario said.
