Junior Isabella Como has grown up with music in her life, and now she is pursuing it herself. Her father, along with several other family members, was once a musician, which pushed Bella to start singing and playing instruments from a young age.
One of her first introductions to music was learning to play guitar. Around the age of eight, her dad decided to teach her how to play, and now she can play five different instruments. Bella now writes and records her own music, using several instruments in many of her songs.
Although she hasn’t officially released any songs, Bella has written about 30 songs. She is constantly finding inspiration from her surroundings and actually keeps a notebook with her to keep up. Between scraps of paper in her room, the notes app on her phone and the notebook, Bella believes she has hundreds of separate lyrics written down. It doesn’t stop there though, as she also has improvised entire songs.
“I kind of feel like, you know Austin and Ally, like her leather-skinned notebook,” Bella said.
Before releasing albums through popular music streaming services, she plans on using social media to gain a public spotlight. Bella uses sites like TikTok to promote her music, posting videos of herself singing and playing guitar. She has hopes to get a bigger audience through this and will soon make money off of her music.
While she isn’t signed by any record labels, she does have her own way to record her music. Just a few years ago, her parents got her a portable recording studio that she now uses to splice her songs together.
“I would record my vocals, then I’d record the guitar part. And from there I would add in whatever I felt needed to spice it up,” Bella said.
“So I’d say yeah, I am looking to at one point or another produce it in a more professional way,” she said. “But as of right now it’s just me.”
Becoming famous off of TikTok isn’t her only plan, though. Bella plans to attend college to continue her musical education if she isn’t famous after graduating high school. With the help of a college counselor, she has hopes of auditioning into a collegiate music program.
“You can listen to my music at @belllacomo on TikTok,” Bella said. “I am in the process of recording and will be releasing on all major platforms soon!”
