Mr. Richie Matz has taken over Mr. Sean Giblin’s job as the new physical education teacher after Mr. Giblin became athletic director. Mr. Matz previously worked in the Hazleton Area School District as a physical education teacher.
He teaches grades PE 10-12, Athletic Training I and II and Driver’s Education. Mr. Matz has always been an active person and has always valued physical education. He went to college and worked in sales for eight years. After working in sales he went back to school for his masters in physical education.
Mr. Matz is looking forward to being a part of a tight-knit community that supports another and builds relationships.
“[For the rest of the year I am looking forward] to continue to know my students and to be involved in more extracurricular activities,” Mr. Matz said.
His expectations for his students is that they come ready to learn and carry themselves with dignity.
“My time here so far has been amazing and thank you to everyone for making the new guy feel at home,” Mr. Matz said.
