Senior Justin Kalitsnik has committed to Old Dominion University to continue his academic and athletic career as a Division I football player.
Kalitsnik has been playing football since the age of four and has been a part of the Warrior lacrosse program since the third grade.
Kalitsnik is a three-time All-Region player, three-time All-League player, a Scranton Times first-team All-State player, Defensive MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. Kalitsnik also has 453 tackles throughout his high school career.
“It is a great feeling to know you have accomplished big things, it’s great,” Kalitsnik said.
Kalitsnik credits the Warrior football program for supporting him throughout all of his hardships and helping him with all the adversity he went through.
“Justin is always at the ball at the end of every single play. He tries and competes with all of his teammates, and it truly makes him a high-level competitor,” assistant coach Jesse Jayne said.
“He continues to have all of these intangible tools to make himself a great linebacker.”
Going Division I has always been a goal for Kalitsnik. Besides Old Dominion, Kalitsnik got offers from Syracuse and Villanova University.
“I chose Old Dominion because of the environment.” Kalitsnik said.“ I have a few friends who attend Old Dominion, the campus is great and the weather is absolutely amazing.”
