Superintendent Dr. Brian Blaum received the Friends of FCS award at the PAFCS conference on April 13.
The award is given out to someone who has had outstanding contribution and support of the Family and Consumer Science department in their school/community.
FACS teachers Mrs. Mercy Ross and Mrs. Beth Pavinich nominated Dr. Blaum by writing an essay and filling out the application.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nicole Cosentino, Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Pavinich went to Central Penn College in Summerdale, Pennsylvania to see Dr. Blaum win first place in the state of Pennsylvania for the Friends of FCS award.
“This is amazing for DV because it shows how much support our FACS department has with all the opportunities and equipment we receive,” Mrs. Pavinich said.
