Students junior Owen Carso and seniors Hallie Balogh and Auttie Grace are student authors with upcoming books. Balogh and Grace are seniors who have been working together for eight years. This is Carso’s third book in the span of a year.
Owen Carso: “Bigfoot’s Bargain”
Carso’s latest book is titled “Bigfoot’s Bargain” which contains comedic elements and is more lighthearted than his first book, “A Deal With Death.” This story is in the same universe as “A Deal With Death,” but it is not a spinoff of his earlier book. “Bigfoot’s Bargain” was published on May 13 and is available on Amazon or buying it directly from Carso.
His inspiration for “Bigfoot’s Bargain” was “A Deal With Death” by taking characters who everyone knows about and portraying them in a humorous light. Carso will be bringing back Mother Nature, but portraying her in a different manner.
“I am choosing to dedicate this book to my friend Riley Krick because he was someone who always supported my writing,” Owen said. “He was the first person I discussed my idea with, and I normally never tell it to anyone besides my family.”
As he started writing “Bigfoot’s Bargain”, the book is centered around a friendship between Bigfoot and the main character Noah. This friendship was inspired by Carso’s friendship with Riley.
This book is focused on a younger audience as well as anyone who has been through high school and dealt with drama.
Hallie Balogh and Auttie Grace
What started off as a joke when they were in 5th grade turned into a science fiction novel. Balogh and Grace’s second book titled “Empire: At Esprit’s Core” is a sequel to their first book “Empire: To the Earth and Back.” This new book is a continuation of their last book and will pick up two weeks after their last book ends.
“[When working together] we argue a lot, but we don’t take each other seriously enough to have a full out fight,” Auttie said.
The book was released on May 16 and is available on Amazon as a paperback or as an eBook. They have been working on this book since the last book was published about two years ago.
“We wanted to write a science fiction novel so that we could have control of our rules and world,” Hallie said.
