The business and marketing CTE students have been making content for the new scoreboard since January.
Once the contract for getting the scoreboard was approved, the students were approached by administration to make content for the board. The first project the students worked on was compiling the images taken of fall athletes from earlier this year and drone shots of the stadium to create a welcome video. From that point on, they created graphics for spring sports and the Special Olympics. They worked with students from across the district, as well as competitors from neighboring districts.
“I’m just thrilled that my students have their opportunity to get their hard work out, not just in the district but to the whole community,” business and marketing CTE teacher Mr. Jeff Luhrs said. “It’s just great exposure for them to hone their marketing skills.”
In order to make the graphics for the board, the CTE students collected information from teachers and coaches who were interested in having content for the board, filmed short clips of the students and edited them together in Canva. Multiple students in the class worked on different projects at the same time, ensuring that the students can get the projects done as efficiently as possible.
“We’re really excited for the opportunity and thankful Dr. Blaum and Dr. Pope have given us this opportunity to bring the CTE to a whole [new] level,” Mr. Luhrs said.
