Chief of School Police Mark Moglia and a collection of volunteers held a simulated car crash to make seniors aware of the dangers and risks of driving while under the influence.
On May 2, volunteers from all around the community came together to make this happen. Westfall Township, Milford and Matamoras Fire Departments brought firetrucks and ambulances to the scene. Pennsylvania State Police and Eastern Pike County Police came with cop cars. A Medevac from Stroudsburg also volunteered to be a part of the simulation. The two cars used in the crash were donated by Ray’s Auto.
Ten DV drama students acted out the scene in front of the senior class.
“It was done in a chaotic fashion to give us an idea of the severity of a serious accident,” senior Travis Kowal said. “We wouldn’t want to put ourselves in that type of situation.”
Chief Moglia felt it went well and was effective. He hopes to do this again in upcoming years.
