The string orchestra traveled to Marywood University to perform at the Marywood string celebration on Oct. 25 and 26.
Nine students from both the senior orchestra and the chamber orchestra, for which audition is required for grades seven through 12, went to perform at the free and annual music festival.
Students first arrived at Marywood on Oct. 25 to rehearse alongside students from five other schools, these schools include Abington Heights School District, North Pocono School District, West Scranton High School, Berwick Area School District and Mountain View Jr./Sr. High School.
Sophomores Inessa Martin and David Agron were both awarded first chair viola. Orchestra teacher Ms. Lauren Flack was pleased with the students’ performance.
“I feel like it went well for us,” Ms. Flack said.
The orchestra’s next performance will be on Dec. 13.
