“The Party Never Ends,” the third posthumous album by rapper Juice WRLD, dropped Nov. 29 after years of anticipation.
There are 19 songs on the deluxe album with features of benny blanco, Eminem, The Kid LAROI, Nicki Minaj and Fall Out Boy.
The album focuses on his struggle with drug addiction and how it affects his relationship with his fans. The opening song, “The Party Never Ends,” starts with battle rapper and Juice WRLD’s DJ Mike P telling the audience to put their phone lights up because Juice WRLD was about to come on stage.
The album is set up to be a concert with snippets of Juice WRLD introducing the songs and hyping the crowd up.
One of the most emotional songs on the album is “Goodbye” by The Kid LAROI. The Kid LAROI who was a close friend of Juice WRLD and has written many songs about and with him. This song is about him having to say goodbye to someone he wasn’t ready to let go of yet and how years later, he is still struggling to move on from his passing.
After first listening, my favorite song on the album was “The Party Never Ends” because of how it was produced. It was produced to make the listener feel like they are at a concert with the song being performed, which I thought was so cool. The song is about him falling into a relapse with drugs and when he does, he feels like the party won’t end. Another song with the same topic is “Party By Myself,” where he feels like he will end up alone with drugs.
Another one of my favorites was “AGATS2 (Insecurities),” featuring Nicki Minaj because of how well Juice WRLD and Minaj’s voice sound together. At first, I thought it was going to be a remix of his hit song “All Girls are the Same” but it was a sequel song with lyrics referencing the song released in 2018.
I have been a huge Juice WRLD fan for years, and I always love hearing more released songs by him. This album was full of emotion and honesty which made it so good and upsetting knowing his outcome.
Many fans including myself are not the biggest fan of the album cover. It was designed by Takashi Murakami who also designed the cover for “Graduation” by Kanye West. In my opinion, the cover does not match the vibe and stories on the album and seems lazily done.
Juice WRLD passed away Dec. 8, 2019, after an overdose in Chicago. Since his death, his record label, Grade A Productions, has been releasing his music as singles and albums. Juice WRLD is said to have over 300 unreleased songs, which fans are begging his label to release. One problem Grade A Productions has is that some of his songs are not completed, so they typically have to get other artists to feature on the songs to release them.
“The Party Never Ends” was teased over three years ago and had many fans excited for its release. Instead, Grade A Productions released “Fighting Demons” in 2021 and two different deluxe versions of “Goodbye and Good Riddance,” his first album from 2018.
The album is said to be the last one released by Grade A Productions, but I hope they continue to release singles of his music.
