“Christmas in Milford: A Holiday Cabaret” performed at the Milford Theater on Dec. 7 completely blew me away. The vocals, their outfits and the piano accompaniment; everything was absolutely beautiful.
Walking into the theater, Christmas music played throughout prior to the show, the decorations on the stage were reminiscent of how families decorate their living room for Christmas. Upstage there was a piano and stage right there was a big christmas tree decorated surrounded by presents. Six stockings were on the wall representing the six cabaret performers, Taylor James, Shannon Felletter, Alexander Miller, Mackenzie Maula, Kris Tjornhom and Kristin Long. All throughout, each shared their own light hearted and comical personal stories and how the songs they performed tie to them.
Each song they performed matched them perfectly, giving their own twist to the songs.
In the last song, “I’ve Got My Love to Keep me Warm,” fake snow fell from the top of the stage onto the performers as they sang. The sight was a shock to many in the audience, including me.
Overall, the holiday cabaret was a beautiful performance and each one beautifully brought the spirit of Christmas with their voices.
