Art enthusiasts are invited to join a one-of-a-kind Lunch & Learn session featuring two groundbreaking artists, Andy Gertler and Sue Beatrice, on Feb. 1. The event, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hall in Milford, will offer an in-depth look into the artists’ unconventional approaches to art and their journey through diverse mediums.
Student tickets are available for the discounted price of $12, non-members must pay $22 and members will pay $17. Participants will also enjoy a homemade hot lunch during the program.
Andy Gertler, known for his innovative sand sculptures, will share how his passion for sculpting in sand led him to explore new creative territories using materials like ice, pumpkins, pasta and cardboard. His unique approach to sculpting challenges traditional artistic boundaries. Gertler will discuss the inspiration behind his creative process during the presentation.
Sue Beatrice, a veteran Disney artist with over 30 years of experience, will delve into her fascinating work with antique watch parts and other unconventional materials. Beatrice has collaborated with top global brands and collectors, using these unexpected elements to create intricate and visually stunning sculptures. She will speak about her journey in combining fine art with the artistry of mechanical objects, offering a fresh perspective on material and form.
The duo will also highlight their collaborative ephemeral art projects, showcasing their ability to merge their individual styles into unique, temporary creations that challenge traditional notions of permanence in art. Visuals of their works will be displayed throughout the event, providing guests with a rare opportunity to see these groundbreaking pieces up close.
The Lunch & Learn session is generously sponsored by Tim Dalton of Edward Jones in Branchville, New Jersey, and promises to be a memorable and insightful experience for all attendees.
