At the Grey Towers Heritage Associations Lunch & Learn, Eva Warner, Executive Director of GAIT Equine Assisted Services, will share the organization’s mission and how equine-assisted therapy helps individuals with special needs, veterans, at-risk youth and others. GAIT will be a part of the Conversations with Our Community Lunch & Learn, which will take place on Feb. 22 from 11:30 to 1:30, at Forest Hall in Milford. Tickets are available for students to purchase for $12, all other tickets range from $17-$20. Tickets can be purchased at Lunch & Learn: Conversations with Our Community or at the door.
“My goal is to educate the community about the impact of GAIT’s programs and inspire support from volunteers, donors and advocates,” Warner said. “We aim to show how horses can aid in therapy, building confidence and trust in a safe, supportive environment.”
GAIT’s programs help clients gain confidence, improve communication and foster emotional and physical strength. As Executive Director, Warner manages programming, partnerships and funding, while also helping out with barn chores and ensuring the facility runs smoothly.
“Leadership at GAIT isn’t just about office work – it’s about getting your boots dirty,” Warner said.
The most rewarding part of the job, according to Warner, is seeing how GAIT’s services make a lasting difference.
“Every person who comes here has unique challenges, and providing a place where they feel supported is incredibly fulfilling,” Warner said.
Volunteers are essential to GAIT’s success. Volunteers assist with lessons, barn chores and administrative tasks.
“Volunteers are the backbone of GAIT, and every role is crucial to making our programs possible,” Warner said.
Other organizations that will be speaking at the Lunch & Learn include Pike County Veterans Affairs, Green Trees, Victims Intervention Program, Choosing Integrity, Ecumenical Food Pantry, CASA and Children and Youth Services.
