Jaxon Barbalich will continue his academic and athletic career at the Division 1 level. He committed to play lacrosse at Siena College and will major in design.
How long have you been playing lacrosse?
I have been playing lacrosse for about nine years.
What do you love about the sport?
It’s got a great mix of everything. High intensity, fast paced, contact, and there’s a lot of skill involved as well. It’s a sport where you can be creative with your play style, and there’s always room for improvement.
What would you say is the best play of your career so far?
Probably when I scored the game winner in overtime this past summer at the NLF lacrosse tournament in Long Island, NY. This is the biggest lacrosse tournament in the country.
What were your top schools before you made your decision?
My top schools were Merrimack, Bryant, Vermont and Siena College. I then committed to Siena because the school felt like home for me.
Do you have any advice for athletes who want to play at the collegiate level?
If playing a college sport is really something you want to do, you have to work harder than everyone else and separate yourself from your competition. Even if you have the slightest interest in playing a sport at the next level, I highly encourage that you do because not many people get that opportunity. If you love the sport enough, you should try to play it as long as possible.
