The softball team would finish its season with a loss against Abington Heights 13-1 on May 23 during the district semi-final matchup. The team’s record was 11-10 for the season, being the first time they had a winning record since 2019.
“We have grown tremendously as a team, both on and off the field,” senior Sara Gagnon said. “I think we tried our hardest against a tough team and put up a fight.”
Junior Jordan Dickerson was the only teammate with hits, gaining two during the game with a few walks mixed in.
The defense was led all year by seniors Dakota Jordan, Ava Capeci, Lauren Donnelly, Shannon Eby, Ashlynn McCardle and Gagnon. He highlights the senior leadership on and off the field. For the entire team, he highlights the effort, determination and the drive to compete as strengths for the team.
Notable moments from throughout the season were when they beat Wallenpaupack after a previous loss days prior to the game. In their Williamsport tournament, the team won 2-1 and in the quarter final matchup, they won against Crestwood.
Head coach Frank Jordan said that the team will continue to work in the offseason and improve on their goal of competing with the best teams in the league.
