Starting their season with a 4-0 record, the boys basketball team defeated Port Jervis with a score of 46-35 on Dec. 14. Senior Jake Brower led the team with 16 points, and Senior Ronnie McManus had nine points.

“Right now, we’re good, but we can get a lot better, so we are just trying to get better everyday,” head coach Kris Holtzer said.

McManus made all four of his free throw attempts and senior Tyee Irving played well defensively and made three of four free throws

“They [Port Jervis] have three kids who shoot the ball well and are really athletic, so we had to make sure that we guarded them,” coach Holtzer said.

Junior Chris U’Glay scored seven points and sophomore Isaiah Berrios scored three points. Brower made two three pointers, and McManus and Berrios had one each.

“To go on the road, even though it’s just five minutes away and come to an environment like this, they really wanted this game badly, so I am happy our kids responded,” coach  Holtzer said.

The Warriors take on East Stroudsburg North tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Spectators are encouraged to wear Christmas-themed attire.
