NHS continues luggage, personal hygiene drive; still accepting donations

This spring, Mrs. Amanda Pope and the National Honor Society organized a luggage drive for individuals who are displaced in the area. Students are encouraged to bring luggage items that are in good or great condition.

Along with gently used or luggage in great working order, the drive will also be accepting toiletries and hygiene products.

Some of the types of items that should be donated include soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, deodorant, shampoo and other items listed by Pike County Human Services as items in greatest need. These items should be brought to Mrs. Pope’s room in C12.

Students can participate in the drive by not only donating but also encouraging friends and family to donate as well.

“[The goal] is to provide individuals in our community who are in need with necessary items for their personal belongings as well as providing them with necessary hygiene products,” Mrs. Pope said.

Students who are considering or planning donations must do so by the last week of May when the drive ends.
