Five teachers volunteered to each receive a basket of about 25-30 eggs with which they filled with prizes for each student in their class. Prizes could be anything including positive messages, pieces of candy, stickers, fruit snacks and erasers.
“The purpose was to promote positivity [among the school],” Rachel’s challenge advisor and science teacher Mrs. Danielle Giordano said.
These teachers then choose another teacher to “egg” by placing the basket outside of a classroom. The teacher who was egged will distribute the eggs to one of his or her classes.
“I got the inspiration from a local firehouse that does it and figured it was simple enough to do here,” Mrs. Giordano said.
The teacher will refill the eggs with another prize and proceed to egg another teacher to continue the cycle. The goal of the eggs is to see how many teachers can be egged and how many students could potentially end up with prizes. So far 17 teachers have been egged and the trend hopes to continue throughout the school year.
