The annual NCAA Division 1 Men’s March Madness tournament begins with Selection Sunday on March 16. Brackets will be released at 6 p.m. ET and will close on March 20 prior to the tip-off time of the first game.
The tournament consists of 68 teams competing for their chance to be champions. The set schedule is as follows:
- First Four: March 18-19
- First Round (64): March 20-21
- Second Round (32): March 22-23
- Sweet 16 : March 27-28
- Elite Eight: March 29-30
- Final Four: April 5
- Championship: April 7
The Del.Aware staff will be hosting a school-wide “Bracket Battle.” You can enter a free bracket for a chance to win a prize. Prizes will be awarded to the top three brackets at the end of the tournament. Scores and standings will be updated on our website as well as Yahoo Fantasy under Men’s Bracket Mayhem.

From there you will have until brackets close on Thursday, March 20 to finish your selections. The goal is for your bracket to be the closest to perfect. You can make your picks based on any strategy, whether it be highest ranked teams, underdogs, favorite teams or even just a guess. No prior knowledge is required because anything can happen and anyone can win!
