The competition cheer team did not advance to the state championship after competing in Districts on Dec. 21.
Head coach Jenn Marchetti states the team will continue to work as they head into home competitions on Jan. 18 and their National HS Cheer Championship on Jan. 30.
“Although we are disappointed at the outcome, I am proud of the way this team has handled adversity this season,” head coach Mrs. Marchetti said. “As challenges arose, we met them head on and continued to push through and improve.”
The Hazelton Area Cougars won Districts, while the Crestwood Comets finished second.
