After performing since fifth grade, junior Eric Choi continues to demonstrate his talent with the violin, clarinet and guitar.
His talent is currently showcased through his involvement in concert band, jazz band and orchestra.
Eric has participated in district band, district orchestra and the SteelStacks Jazz Festival.
“This year I want to make it to the all-state orchestra festival and become a better musician,” Eric said.
Eric has strengthened as a musician through the help of his directors Ms. Lauren Flack, Mr. Richard Bullock and Mrs. Kelly Craver, who have provided him with new opportunities and connections.
He hopes to continue his career after high school by playing in his college’s concerts and teaching private music lessons.
Eric feels the most rewarding part of music is being able to see the improvement at the end of each concert, after dedicating hours to rehearsing.
“When you hear all the cheer and people complimenting you it feels great,” Eric said. “As you get better it becomes more fun and you begin to like it more and more.”
