Every year, AP art students in the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) submit their artwork for the possibility of their art being chosen to be showcased in the global NAHS Juried Exhibition.
The students submitted their work online and there were various categories that students could enter their work under. The categories ranged from drawing mediums to sculpture work. The show is entirely online. Students were not required to send hard copies of their work to the judges.
Around 1,700 pieces of art are submitted each year and only 125 of those are chosen to be featured in the virtual art gallery.
“Last year we did not win, but the year before that and the year before that we did,” AP art teacher Dr. Irene Lantz said. “We’re hoping to win this year.”
The exhibition dates are April 10 to Aug. 31, 2026 so the students have to submit by Feb. 17 to have their pieces be juried and considered. Students and teachers will then be notified Thursday, March 12 if their work was chosen to be featured in the virtual gallery.
Since students from countries all over the world submit their artwork to be featured, according to Dr. Lantz, it is impressive that DV is competitive and does so well.
