DV hosted a unified track and field meet April 22 against Valley View and Abington Heights. The Warriors tied with Valley View with a final score of 223.08, beating Abington Heights’ score of 117.00.
For the track events, first place in the 100 meter dash was awarded to transition student Michael McKeeby, sophomore Alyiah Andrews, junior Gregory Plotkin and senior Colin Stanley. First place in the 400 meter dash was awarded to senior Angela Olsen and junior Logan Lewis. First place in the 800 meter dash was awarded to freshman Abigal Arnold and senior Finnegan Lewis.
First place in the long jump was awarded to sophomore Camryn Brohm and junior Keria LeMay. First place in the mini javelin was awarded to junior Jasmyn Ruzzano, freshman Chloe Ruiz, freshman Ashlyn Rodriguez-Hernandez and freshman Addison Pousley. First place in the Shot Put was awarded to sophomore Alyiah Andrews, senior Brielle Spears, junior Zoey Schaal, sophomore Chuck Adorno and senior CJ Koger.
“The kids that we have, it’s nice to see them be allowed to be themselves and to be kids,” coach Hailey Vogel said. “This is a very special group of kids that we have, so the bonds that they are forming is fun to see.”
