From a young age, senior Julia Boronow, also known as Jules, has known that she wants to be an artistic creator.
“I don’t care what I do in my future; all I want to do is create,” Jules said.
Jules has been interested in art and creating an artistic presence for herself since she could remember.
“I always probably watched a movie every single day when I was younger,” she said. “ I was always interested; I just always liked the attention to detail and the things I saw around me in movies.”
When watching movies as a kid, she never memorized her favorite directors but would spot out the little details and think to herself “yeah that’s something I would like to do – help perfect the small things.”
Jules’s favorite art project involved working on a video with a local foundation that helped those who were incarcerated. The project encouraged them to get back on their feet and put them back into society.
“Not only was it fun to work with these people but I was interviewing, writing scripts and directing,” Jules said. “I got to put cameras in places that I wanted to do, while I was helping real people and the real community. It was a lot of fun just learning and creating.”
One person who inspires her is Tyler the Creator. A quote that he said that she connects with is, “Create like a child, edit like a scientist.”
“If I think I can do it, I’ll do it,” Jules said. “I will make a million different edits, make little tweaks all the time, re-download that photo and then it finally gets to that point where I say ‘This is it? It’s perfect.’”
Jules credits her mom, art teachers Mrs. Tricia Kaylor and Mrs. Krystine Thompson and business and marketing teacher Mr. Jeff Luhrs for supporting her through everything she does and giving her confidence.
“Keep an eye out for me,” Jules said. “I do a lot of projects, and I work really hard.”
