The field hockey team ended its season with a loss against Wyoming Valley West 2-0 in the district quarterfinals Nov. 2.  The team ended its season 2-15-1.

According to head coach Marielle Cavallaro, the record was disappointing, but there was a lot of growth in working as a unit while passing and possessing the ball. The seniors on the team leaving after this season are Katie Matthews, Rebecca McFeely, Brianna Moreschi and Kailyn Wood, who Calvallaro says will be missed.

“They were freshmen my first year coaching, so we’ve been through a lot together. They have helped to put the team in a good spot culturally,” coach Cavallaro said.

According to coach Cavallaro, the team’s biggest challenges were that they were very young, so they did not have a lot of experience at the varsity level. The team also struggled to effectively create offense. However, she is looking forward to seeing improvements made during the offseason for the team.

“I’m proud of this team for always playing hard in both good games and bad games,” coach Cavallaro said.
