The Girl Behind The Gun to host non-lethal self defense training

Lorraine Crescimanno, the owner of The Girl Behind the Gun, will host a non-lethal self defense seminar geared toward women, young drivers, teenagers and anyone who is concerned about their safety, on March 16 from 9 a.m.-11a.m.

Crescimanno will be hosting this seminar at the Dingmans Counseling Building at 1869 Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. The seminar will be co-hosted by chapter leaders from Armed Women of America.

The seminar will address non-lethal situational awareness, protection plans, preparation and avoidance for a situation that could happen any time, anywhere. The seminar includes hands-on activities that help one respond to real-life situations and powerpoints that inform participants on overall safety.

The seminar’s cost is $55, but Crescimanno is offering a $5 discount for Delaware Valley High School students when using code “DVHS5” when registering at shootingclasses.com/TheGirlBehindTheGun.

“People don’t set out to be victims. It is something that happens to someone unexpectedly,” Crescimanno said. “Self-protection is so important because bad things are happening to good people daily.”

Crescimanno, a Delaware Valley alumni, gained her certificate for being a firearms trainer at Dingmans Shooting Range approximately five years ago. Shortly thereafter, she became a local chapter leader for the national women’s organization Armed Women of America where they train women to be their own self-protectors.

Through time, Crescimanno gained knowledge from speaking with others about the concerns around self-protection for women.

“I started The Girl Behind The Gun because I enjoy the shooting sports and also because I saw a need to teach men and women that they can protect themselves and their families even if they choose not to carry a firearm,” Crescimanno said.
