Paint the Plow is a PennDOT program that began in the winter of 2015-2016. The program was created to promote public awareness and safe driving in the winter.

Each year, high schools in the Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties participate in Paint the Plow. Each school that participates is given a snow plow blade to paint according to the theme that is given and judged accordingly.

The theme for this year’s program is a little different than usual. Instead of having a theme that creates public awareness, PennDOT felt it was important to change this year’s theme to school spirit. PennDOT is giving students the chance to show their creativity after a year of virtual and hybrid learning.

Senior AP Studio Art students Mirabella Demmo, Rachel Richter and Rachel Fox worked many hours in and outside of school designing and painting the snow plow to display what they believe to be Delaware Valley’s school spirit.
