DV FBLA officers receive exclusive tour of Kalahari

On Oct. 29, Delaware Valley FBLA officers attended a behind-the-scenes tour of Kalahari as part of the State Leadership Workshop.

Officers pre-registered for the walking tour throughout the waterpark. They followed a guide into the authorized personnel section of the park where each slide is controlled. Pipes and pumps ran throughout the room, lining the walls and the ceilings. The guide explained the various pumps for the slides and showed how the different controls worked. He also explained the safety mechanisms of the slides and how they shut down if the system noticed something is wrong.

At the end of the tour, the guide showed a new slide that was being built to the officers. He explained how the slide would work and the timeline for the slide to be done.

Kalahari is the second-largest waterpark in the United States and is 220,000 square feet in size. There are attractions for all age levels, as well as different thrill levels from tranquil to extreme.
